Onyx
Onyx stone is one of the types of building stones, which geologically belongs to the category of metamorphic stones. Onyx stone comprises different minerals, including quartz, feldspar, and agate. Onyx Stone can change the entire look of your space, from light-reflective countertops and flooring to beautiful wall covering as it reflects light.
According to the new nomenclature of the American Stone Institute, since 2011, the name of the onyx stone has been accompanied by changes as follows.
1- Onyx stone: includes white and black streaks or other colors that are placed in parallel concentric lines and includes silica chalcedony minerals that are placed in the field of silica crystals.
2- Onyx marble stone: Onyx marble is actually a calcite marble that has a strip texture and has a high polishing ability. Onyx marble stone can be formed in the form of pure calcite, white to milky in color, or with the presence of various impurities such as magnesium, hematite, limonite, mica, graphite, serpentine, green, pink, yellow and red. Onyx marble stones are shiny and have the ability to pass light.
3- Traonix stone: Traonix stone is actually calcite marble with travertine strips that have high polishing ability and allow light to pass through them.
